MINERAL TREATMENT

At Río Narcea West Africa S.L. we have mineral processing and preparation procedures designed to ensure maximum efficiency in the recovery of doré gold and other strategic metals.

One of the key pieces of equipment in our operations is Ball Milling, or the ball mill, used for the fine grinding of minerals. This system allows for:

  • Extracted minerals are crushed into a uniform powder, facilitating the release of gold particles and other valuable metals.

  • By improving the mineral’s contact surface, efficiency increases in subsequent concentration and recovery processes.

  • Ball Milling can process various minerals beyond gold, such as nickel, cobalt, and chromium, adapting to different stages of production.

The complete treatment process includes:

  • Initial rock crushing and reduction to fine particles using ball mills.

  • Separation of gold particles through vibrating tables, centrifuges, and other gravity-based methods.

  • Application of controlled techniques (such as cyanidation or alternative methods) to separate doré gold from the mineral gangue.

  • Preliminary refining in specialized furnaces, yielding doré bars with an average purity of 96% Au.

  • Metallurgical testing in certified laboratories ensures the purity and traceability of each batch.
